  • Modernist garden design Cambridgeshire

    Garden design

If you are finding your outdoors space in any way uninspiring I would be delighted to undertake a full design. All scales welcome - you might have a small urban garden, something larger in the country, a new build house, or just a balcony! Some clients enjoy collaborating while others prefer to be presented with a finished product – I am happy either way. The process tends to unfold as follows:

    1. Initial visit and consultation
    2. Concept proposals (the vision, including layout and general plant ideas)
    3. Detailed proposals (comprehensive planting and working plans)
    4. After signing off the plans, quotes from contractors will be sourced to find the right price for any landscaping work
    5. Planting and project management
    6. Aftercare and maintenance advice

  • Garden consultation Cambridgeshire

    Garden consultancy

It is invaluable to talk through gardening ideas with someone else, whether you are a complete beginner or an old hand. If you need some fresh ideas, or a nudge to get over something which is holding you back, then some garden consultancy could be just the thing. After discussing what you’d like from your garden and assessing the soil and site, we talk through a range of options in terms of layout, planting, or both. I can then sketch or write up some recommendations for you to take forwards in your own time.

    Edimentals
While we love plants of all kinds, over the years we have developed extensive knowledge of edible ornamentals, and are always delighted to offer online or in-person consultations focussing on these plants. There is an enormous range of plants which are both beautiful and useful, a number of which are staples of Forest Garden and Permaculture designs. Unfortunately many of these fabulous plants are currently either sadly underutilised, or used without an awareness of their culinary possibilities. We are committed to changing this!

  • Planting design

You may wish to expand an area of your garden, or perhaps to refresh or revitalise some tired existing planting without making major changes to the overall layout. If this is you, then I would be delighted to draw up a planting scheme and plant list based on our discussions and a site assessment. The planting design might be based around ‘edimentals’, planting for wildlife, or perhaps you are after a particular atmosphere – be it serene, exuberant, or exotic. Whatever you are after, I will design a strong planting scheme offering year-round interest.
